The Santa Monica Collect - ive
Our Mission
The Santa Monica Collect-ive is a student led waste clean up initiative. Our mission is to dispose of the excessive amounts of trash that collect around Santa Monica’s beaches. The collective focuses of beach parking lots and surrounding streets in order to prevent trash from washing into gutters and directly into the water. Last year it was reported that there was more than 380,000 pounds of debris on California State beaches, and it is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic waste in the ocean than fish. We must do more. We cannot stand back and allow our beaches and oceans to be destroyed by trash. Join the fight today alongside us at the Santa Monica Collect-ive.
